Frequently Asked Questions

01. How do I know if I/we should be in therapy?

If you are considering therapy, it’s usually a good indication that it would be beneficial for you. Therapy could be helpful to anyone who wishes to make a change and realizes that their current methods of coping are not working and that these difficulties are standing in the way of leading an enjoyable and fulfilling life.

If you are unsure, we can schedule a phone consultation to decide together whether psychoanalysis would be the right fit for you, and also whether I am the right therapist for you.

02. How often will I need to come?

Every person and circumstance are different, which is why during our first few sessions we will set goals that will define the nature of our work together. Once or twice weekly meeting are typical, but it may be that you opt to come more or less frequently. Therapy is a commitment, and I am deeply sensitive to the fact that it can be a strain on both one’s time and finances. To do the kind of deep questioning and exploration that yields real, lasting change, will take time and effort.

03. What will my financial commitment be?

My fee range is $100-$300/hr, but I try to make exceptions depending on your circumstances. We will discuss the fee at our the first session. I do not charge for the initial consultation session as this is a time for us to get to know on another.
